My journey into the world of foraging and wildcrafting began during a memorable summer in high school, when I visited my cousins in the remote Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia. It was there that I had the privilege of meeting Elke, a dear family friend from Germany.
United by a shared love for nature, Elke and I embarked on a fascinating mycology workshop deep within the forest. Throughout that immersive day, we scoured the woods, uncovering the hidden treasures of local fungi and delving into the intricate world of mushrooms. It was an experience that ignited a passionate interest in mycology and the art of self-sufficiency through foraging.
To this day, my connection with nature remains unwavering. I eagerly embark on hikes, immersing myself in the beauty of the wilderness, and diligently identifying every plant and mushroom that crosses my path. I take delight in collecting and preserving the abundant bounties I discover along the way, cherishing their natural essence and harnessing their unique qualities.
